With the new database system in 2026, there are stone+wire components you don’t need anymore. Some of these were slowing down my system so I followed these steps from Autodesk Support to remove all traces of pre-2026:
– Uninstall all Flame versions using the Uninstaller Application.
– Open a Terminal, get root privileges.
---- sudo su
---- Remove residual Autodesk packages.
---- rm -rf /opt/Autodesk
---- rm -rf /Library/Application\ Support/Autodesk
---- rm -rf /Applications/Autodesk
---- pkgutil --pkgs | grep -i autodesk | xargs -n1 pkgutil --forget
– Run the cleanCFApps.sh script located in the installer to remove the Creative Finishing application files:
---- Open the DMG installer file but do not run install yet.
---- Run the command /Volumes/Autodesk<Flame_version>/Install\ Flame.app/Contents/Helper/checks/cleanCFApps.sh -2
– Restart computer and Install needed Flame versions.

So I followed your instructions. Got rid of everything. Then reinstalled 2026.01. But when I launched flame all the old projects were still there. I was hoping we were starting again. How do you start again with the database?
And this will get rid of the new database. I was surprised after deleting everything that that was still there,. Is the Postgre basically somewhere else
Ok tried it all again. Tried the commands from Bryanb and then the igniter destroy. And now we are back with a fresh install - everything is lit green.
I think my problems are elsewhere though. When I create a project occasionally in the project manager it disappears and you occasionally get a IP address invalid line come up. Then the project comes back/ I think this intermittent thing is the problem. Any ideas
Didnt get much luck with support,. first case no one answered - the second they killed it because I got the company name slightly wrong. im back in London where flame works just fine! sticking with 2026 - tons and tons of crashes though. not all of them send logs to you. mostly in type and to do with the animation window
