Default 4K output as Single Link

I have a Kona 5G outputting to a 4K monitor over a 12G SDI Single Link. Every time I create a new project, and sometimes when I’ve already set things up in an existing project and I launch back into it, the 4K outputs in preferences revert to Quad Link 4K. Is there any way to have this default to the Single Link option always? Perhaps through an Environment Variable?

Out of curiosity, do you sometimes launch other older versions of Flame on the same workstation?
