Empty external HDD through Flame interface

Hey guys,

I hope everybody’s fine.
I have an issue: in the mediahub, files tab, when I open an external HDD it’s empty (whereas I know it’s not). Weirdly folders appear in Archives Tab, but prevent me from importing files as I’m in Archives tab. It used to happen from time to time, a simple restart use to fix the issue but it’h been a few days now and it’s a big problem.
Does it ring a bell to anyone?

@Aurelien - please supply more information:

operating system and version?
flame version?
external HDD format?
permissions for external HDD contents?

Flame 2024.2.1
Mac Studio M2
Sonoma
Pegasus R2 (but any external HDD anyway)
READ/Right permission for all users
I precise that it was working fine 2 days ago

ok

macos does some funny stuff - if the drive goes to sleep or another user logs in or if the giant shiny donut sends a spell through the wire, the name of your hard drive can change (also the name of your network connection, the name of your computer, etc.)

try the following commands:

ls -al /Volumes/

ls -al /Volumes/<YOUR HARD DRIVE NAME>/

Do you want a screenshot of the result?

@Aurelien - i sent you a direct message - we should zoom or something - we will get results faster

Check your Full Disk Access:

Hey guys,

I install latest version of Flame and somehow I get access again to my files. Maybe it was a problem of authorizations, I guess I’ll never know.

Thank you very much for your help.

Salut Aurelien!

macOS, as a secured operating system, requires users to provide permissions for many action like sharing screen, microphone and camera, etc. You need to grand access to applications and services to have access to content. Look at the Full Disk Access menu and you will see a list of applications that you might need to enable.

Based on the version of Flame you are running, a dialog at the start of the application will show you a warning if Flame is not able to read file systems.
