How do I unfold all handles in my sequence?

I want to adjust my start frame to 1001 across all segments in my timeline, but I want this to be the first frame of the media including the handles. If I use “change start frame” it changes the first visible frame to 1001 and then unfolding my handles they count back from there.

I thought I’d just create a new sequence with all the handles unfolded and then change the start frames in there, and rely on the segment connections to transfer those new numbers into my main sequence, but I realise now I don’t know a simple way to unfold the handles.

I tried matching out and dragging into a new sequence but the in and out points persist after my match and then the segments all land in the new sequence with the handles collapsed again!

If anybody can tell me how to do any of the following then you’ll solve my problem:

  • change start frame (including handles)
  • unfold all handles in a sequence
  • clear in/out marks across all clips in a reel
  • ignore in/out marks when dragging clips into a sequence

Thanks

So I posted that and then immediately realised that I can change the start frame on all the matched out media in the reformat menu.

…but although that solved my problem, I’d still love to have a way to unfold all the handles in a sequence

Select all the clips in the sequence, match them out to a reel, then select all the clips in the reel and splice.

Ah. Splice! Haven’t pushed that in a while. Nice one.

As an added bonus, you can match out all the segments in the new clip and you will have all the segments on your desktop without the in/out marks as well.

Yep. Great.

There is a way to unroll all handles in the timeline but it only works if all shots have the same amount of handles. If they aren’t all the same you’ll roll out to the length of the shortest one, and then have to do some more work to roll out the longer ones.

I’m using smoke hotkeys:
— select all segments (Numpad /)
— Select Outgoing / Incoming side of Transitions (Space+B / Space+N)
— Turn on ripple mode & Trim mode
— Drag out on one of the selected cuts.

I use this all the time to get a Sources Sequence with handles rolled out for color sessions.
