Old tube camera

I’m trying to create an old the camera look from the 60’s / 70’s for a project I’m working on, however I’m struggling with getting the streaky, laggy highlights look.
Any suggestions how to achieve this?

Maybe you’ve tried this already but — Average set to weighted, past and future, set to 4. Comp over with Max/Lighten.

Another try would be Denoise with the curves cranked up. Temporal options turned on.

Thanks Nick, yes, tried the average trick, still not quite right.

The problem with using average is that there is never enough temporal resolution. I’ve never done this trick for camera lag, but I have for faking motion blur, and with ML it works even better. I slow the clip down by 10 times (maybe it was 8 with ML), then apply the average, then speed it back up. This is also a handy trick if I’m doing a lot of speed ramps.

Yeah, I’ve done that a few times, but this material is too long to use that technique.

Recursive with a luma key? Done in log?
