Does anyone know if it’s possible to comment on work directly inside flame?
For example: if I load in a shot, review it then want to comment on it, can I annotate and write comments inside flame which can then be published to shotgrid?
No. But we just use the web based annotator for this while reviewing shots in flame.

@johnt This may not be exactly what you are looking for but what you can do is add a note in the ShotGrid project from the ShotGrid panel accessible from the ShotGrid submenu inside the Flame menu at the bottom right of the screen.
