I know there’s a way to see the primary track from a timeline on the broadcast monitor when in Side by Side view mode. I know because for a while it was correct yesterday, but now the broadcast monitor shows the secondary track and I can’t figure how how to change it.
Compare mode on/off? Ctrl-4 to bring up the UI. I know this is obvious but sometimes it gets me.
Maybe secondary track is selected in the viewer instead of Compare.
F13 (print screen) compare
F14 (scroll lock) secondary track
F15 (pause) cycle compare modes
I think you are misunderstanding the question.
It appears so. Broadcast monitor doesn’t show side by side. Duh. Sorry for wasting bandwidth.
It shows one side. I want it to show the other without swapping the primary/secondary
Alt-ctrl-B to view UI display on broadcast?
Nope.
That’s the only way I can see side by side comparison showing up on the broadcast monitor.
I don’t want the side by side. I want the left side. Currently I only see the right, but yesterday, for a while, I was seeing the left.
I was being quite thick I guess. You want to view side by side on the GUI monitor and view the primary track on the broadcast. Now, hopefully, I got it.
Thing is, I see my primary track on the broadcast monitor and not the secondary track.
And I did too for a couple of hours yesterday.
Please dont kill me @ytf…
But 300% you havent swapped Prim & Secondary in the timeline by accident? I sometimes get all confused and realize i have been looking at the Secondary for 10mins by accident.
I noticed next to the Side by Side toggle in Viewing Settings > Compare Mode, there is toggle that for me says Secondary Track, but it actually expands to a whole menu to select Prim & 2nd.
I won’t kill you, but I can assure you I didn’t have them swapped by accident. And Sinan’s is working correctly. The pop-out you describe is simply an alternate method for choosing which tracks are primary and which are secondary. They have no effect, to my knowledge, on which side of the side by side goes to the broadcast monitor.
It’s happened to me before as well. I just rebooted and it went back to normal. It’s like it got confused or something. All track patching was correct. For me it happened after cycling through modes to sxs after using the wipe.
Not helpful I know… other than maybe misery loves company.
Actually, that’s really helpful. You’re right, a reboot fixed it. I can’t figure out what fucks it up, though. I cycled through, I changed stuff, but it stays correct. I’ll keep an eye on it and if I can figure out how to replicate, I’ll make a report.
I’ve seen a similar issue and what the menu says in compare UI is not correct. So have you tried changing the selection back and forth?
There is a shortcut to toggle sec to be prim while not actually switching both. (think it is nearby print in smoke)
that will have your active view set to always do secondary first.
(actually what Sinan wrote first, haha, sry)
