Yeah, the fix in 2024 is twofold- not only do they let you have consolidate on or off by default, but they also made it so Drag is no longer affected by consolidate regardless of its status. So this won’t be an issue anymore once you manage to find the time to upgrade. We just upgraded this week and we’re lovin’ it!
